On 9 November, volunteers from across our 3 clubs gathered to take stock of the year and to give thanks to God for his work in Jesus Club. In small groups, we shared our highs and lows \u2013 we rejoiced to hear how God has been at work in our clubs to save and to grow our members with intellectual disabilities. We also prayed for each other as we shared personal struggles with feeling tired, inadequate, and for some, frustrated with a lack of church support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lincoln, one of our founding leaders, gave us a timely word for weary Christians from 2 Corinthians 4. We were reminded that God, in his wisdom, has chosen to entrust his treasure, his glorious gospel, to jars of clay \u2013 ordinary, unimpressive, fragile, weak people like us! Why has God chosen to do this? To show that the surpassing power to save comes from God alone, and not from us. And so, it\u2019s okay for us to feel weak, because God wants weak people on his team. And God is pleased to powerfully work through our weaknesses to accomplish his glorious plan of salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do pray for us to, first, remember what a privilege it is to be God\u2019s treasure-bearers to persons with ID, and then to continue serving our members joyfully, trusting in God\u2019s power alone to do his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
