Love is in the air this February! Did you know that Christians are the true experts on love? John tells us that we know what love is because Jesus gives us both the definition of love and the commandment to love:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 John 3:16<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

And so, as the world celebrates Valentine\u2019s Day with flowers, food, and much fanfare, we celebrate the love we have for one another because Jesus first loved us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We interviewed some of our members and their Jesus Club BFFs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ban Joo:<\/strong> \u201cWei Keong is very cute and very funny. He likes to make people laugh. He likes to help others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wei Keong:<\/strong> \u201cBan Joo is my good friend because we run together and we have been friends for a long time. I like Ban Joo because he tells good jokes and makes us happy. He has a good smile.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. What do you enjoy doing together?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ban Joo:<\/strong> \u201cI enjoy chit-chatting with him!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wei Keong:<\/strong> \u201cRunning together. Our friendship together. Talking, joking, encouraging each other. Helping each other do what is right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. What’s something nice he has done for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ban Joo:<\/strong> \u201cHe came to celebrate my birthday with me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wei Keong:<\/strong> \u201cWe help one another.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly:<\/strong> \u201cI like Adeline because she is such a joker.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adeline: <\/strong>\u201cI like Kelly because she is very funny and always jokes with me. We talk together very well every time we meet. She is a good daughter and sister, and looks after her family well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. What do you enjoy doing together?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly:<\/strong> \u201cWe enjoy shopping together most!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adeline:<\/strong> \u201cWalking in shopping centres, eating together, and meeting at the MRT station to go to Jesus Club.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. What’s something nice he\/she has done for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly:<\/strong> \u201cWhen I need her, she is always there to help me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adeline:<\/strong> \u201cShe celebrated my birthday with me and a few other friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hannah:<\/strong> \u201cI like Ben\u2019s cheerful personality, his readiness to serve others and his love for learning more about God! He also likes laughing at cheesy jokes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben:<\/strong> \u201cI like Hannah because she has a good heart to help people whether lovable or hard to love. Hannah is also patient, attentive and thinks of others more than herself. She has honesty and integrity. These are some of the attributes that I have learnt from her over the long period of 11 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. What do you enjoy doing together?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hannah: <\/strong>\u201cIt\u2019s always fun to pray together and practice songs for Jesus Club. We work out how best to lead a song so that everyone will enjoy praising God together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben:<\/strong> \u201cI enjoy accompanying her on the piano or keyboard, thinking of others more than ourselves, eating, conversations, humour, and honesty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. What’s something nice he\/she has done for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hannah:<\/strong> \u201cHe often texts to ask how my husband and I are doing, and prays faithfully for our needs. He also shares new insights from sermons to encourage us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben:<\/strong> \u201cShe gave me an opportunity to help others. It is when I help others that I realise that I actually help myself too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
