Doing Life Together | Jul 2022

At Jesus Club, our members with ID are not our clients (by no means, as the apostle Paul would say). They’re our friends. In fact, we are more than friends. We are family – brothers and sisters in Christ. And being family, we do life together!

Movie Outing

Over the June holiday break, a group of volunteers, members and parents from Jesus Club@BCBA went for a movie outing.

We got a glimpse of the new normal – we watched Top Gun: Maverick in a packed cinema while enjoying snacks brought by one of the parents, followed by lunch at NEX.

While the action-packed movie was exciting, the most memorable part of the outing had to be lunch. We got to know people outside our usual small groups.

Many stories were shared: how we came to know about Jesus Club, what we are doing in life, and even accounts of our recent travels.

It was truly a fulfilling time spent seeing our Jesus Club friends eating yummy food so heartily and expressing how they loved the movie. What greater joy than to be connected with each other through God’s love.

Hannah’s Wedding

In early July, a group of Jesus Club friends came to attend my wedding lunch at Seletar Country Club. I was delighted to have them with me celebrating this new season of my life, especially since my husband also regularly joins us at Jesus Club@BFEC.

As usual, everyone turned up early for the shuttle bus pick-up, some even an hour earlier! I heard that they enthusiastically helped to direct and guide other passengers up the bus.

Our Jesus Club pianist, Ben, also helped to play background music before the lunch and received high compliments from the venue staff. Everyone enjoyed the food, fellowship and the photo booth!

After the speeches, a few Jesus Club friends also went over to say hello to my parents and commented on how well they spoke, bringing much joy and laughter to them. I’m ever thankful for these friendships in my life.
