Good Friday: Remembering Jesus Christ | Apr 2025

By Kay, a volunteer at JC@BA

Good Friday means different things to different people. Some enjoy the public holiday, and others might go Easter egg hunting. But for Christians, Good Friday is a special time to remember Jesus, His death and resurrection.

At JC@BA, we held a special Easter event to hear from God’s Word in Mark 15:40–16:8. We wanted to share the hope of Jesus with friends who may not yet believe, and to remind those who do believe of the joy and hope we have in Him. Our friends brought 5 guests who came to join us for this gathering.

We were reminded of Jesus’ finished work on the cross. We also learnt that Jesus’ death and resurrection is not a made-up story; it’s history, as attested by the many eyewitness accounts. Finally, we were encouraged to follow King Jesus so we will live too!

The big idea for Good Friday’s talk at JC@BA.

To reinforce the point of Good Friday, Bethesda Church Bukit Arang’s interest group, Nagomi Art, made a special appearance and organised the craft session for the night. On a card, we did finger-printing using coloured powder to fill in the background, then pasted on cut-outs of a cross, grass and flowers. Lastly, we wrote “He is Risen” as a reminder of the victory we have when we gaze upon the cross.

Special craft session organised by BA’s interest group, Nagomi Art. Ft. Christy and her finished craft.

We concluded the night with yummy supper and fellowship. It was a wonderful time at JC@BA celebrating our Lord Jesus’ death and resurrection. We hope to remember these truths in our hearts and to share this life-giving message with our pre-believing special friends so that one day they may also come to know Christ.
