This Easter, JC@Bukit Arang organised a special BYF (bring-your-friend) evening to encourage members to – you guessed it! – bring a friend to hear the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Christmas has typically been our main outreach event for members to invite friends and family. This year, we wanted to create another opportunity in the year for our members to bring loved ones into the regular life of Jesus Club, and to think intentionally about sharing the good news of Jesus with those around them.
We thank God for the new friends who joined us for the evening, and for the hearts of our members who boldly extended invitations.
The evening followed our usual Jesus Club programme of songs, a Bible talk, small group discussions, a hands-on activity, and supper.
Our Easter talk was from 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, where we considered the heart of the gospel:
Christ died for our sins,
He was buried,
and He was raised on the third day.
Together, we reflected on the wonderful truth that though Jesus’ death on the cross may seem like bad news at first glance, it is in fact the best news – Jesus died for our sins so that we would not face eternal death. And because Jesus rose again from the dead, defeating death, all who trust in Him can have the sure hope that we too will be raised with Him one day.
We also made an Easter craft to reinforce the gospel in a simple and memorable way. It was a joy to see everyone engage enthusiastically in making the craft and reflecting on the truth of Easter together.
We continue to be encouraged by how God is at work in Jesus Club, teaching and shaping us by His Word and Spirit, helping us grow in our trust in Jesus, and stirring us to share about Him with others.
Please pray with us:
- that our members and volunteers would continue trusting deeply in Jesus
- that we would have hearts for those around us who do not yet know Him
- and that God would give us boldness to keep sharing this good news
