Teaching The Gospel Of Luke | Sep 2026

At Jesus Club (JC), our goal is to teach all of the Bible faithfully and in an accessible way to our members with intellectual disabilities (ID). Fang Qing, a volunteer with JC@Bethesda Church Bukit Arang (BA), talks us through how they’ve been teaching through the gospel of Luke.

From August to November this year, JC@BA has been focusing on the gospel of Luke. Over the past 2 months, we have looked at the first 3 chapters of Luke and learnt many precious truths about Jesus.

From Luke 1, we saw that Mary is pregnant and will give birth to a son named Jesus. God kept His promise of sending a Saviour and King! This means that we can trust and praise God because He keeps His promises. We ended the session with a craft reminding us of this wonderful truth.

Craft Activity for Luke 1

Luke 2 begins with Jesus’ birth, but to our surprise, He is born in a manger even though He is the promised King! This teaches us that Jesus is a humble King who came to serve and not to be served. We then saw that the first people to hear about the good news of Jesus’ birth was not great and important people but ordinary shepherds. This shows us that Jesus came for everyone — everyone matters to God!

Big Idea of Luke 2

In Luke 3, John the Baptist tells us to turn away from our sins because Jesus has come! We thought about the different ways we can turn away from sin, such as waiting patiently for our turn during Jesus Club suppers, showing generosity by sharing our things with others and choosing to thank God for what we have instead of being jealous of someone who has the newest iPhone.

As we continue learning from the book of Luke over the next 2 months, please pray for us that we will grow in understanding who Jesus is and love Him more!
