God Gifted You for Me, and Me for You! | Mar 2023

1 Corinthians 12:7 teaches us that every believer in Jesus has a gift from the Spirit for the common good. That means God has gifted you for me, and me for you! That’s why at Jesus Club (JC), it’s not just the volunteers serving; we serve alongside our friends with ID. Together, we strive to use our different God-given abilities to build one another up in Christ.

Here are some ways our members serve the JC family.

Xiansong

Xiansong is our trusty set-up IC at JC@BFEC! Every meeting, he finds out how many groups there are and how many people are coming from each group. Then, without missing a beat, he’ll carry out the heavy tables from the back of the hall and set up just the right number of tables and chairs.

“It’s not tiring to do this. I like to arrange things neatly. I like to help so that everyone can enjoy the meeting.”

Judith

Juju is our “pistachio” (开心果) at JC@BFEC. We love her hugs and her smile is so bright she never fails to light up the room. Whenever it’s her turn to give the opening prayer, she’ll write down her prayer and practice saying it “many, many, many times” because she has stage fright.

“I don’t know why I feel so nervous when I’m up there in front of everyone. [But I still serve] because Jesus Club is my family. The way Jesus loves, I also love them.”

David

David also leads in prayer at JC@BA. He enjoys serving in this way even though he feels nervous leading in front of everyone.

“I enjoy the fellowship and can feel the love of the brethren.”

Ben

Ben plays the piano for us at both clubs! And he’s looking forward to the launch of JC at Leng Kwang Baptist Church so that he can serve there too!

We asked him what keeps him serving at JC:

“I like to give people my presence, time, effort and availability. It is truly more blessed to give than to receive.”
